The Archbishop of Canterbury sparks controversy

(SRN NEWS)-On this year’s 25th anniversary of the 9-11 attacks, Sarah Mullaly presented the Church of England’s Hubert Walter Award for Reconciliation and Interfaith Cooperation to Hafiz Ashrafi, a Muslim cleric who has praised Osama Bin Laden. When outrage ensued, the archbishop withdrew the award a week later.  Now thousands of Britons have signed a petition calling for Mullaly to step down as the head of the Church and leader of the Worldwide Anglican Communion.
