WASHINGTON, Oct 1 (Reuters) – The Federal Aviation Administration is set to convene a safety review on Friday of a software issue affecting Boeing 737 MAX airplanes that could prevent pilots from accessing automated flight guidance during a specific landing scenario.
The FAA is scheduled to convene a Corrective Action Review Board on Friday to review the issue but airline officials told Reuters they do not believe the board will determine the issue poses a safety concern. The FAA said earlier this week it was delaying certification of the 737 MAX 10 until it completed its anaylsis.
