Satellite Images Show Renewed Activity at Iran Nuclear Weapons Site Struck by Israel

By The Media Line Staff

Iran may be rebuilding capabilities at the Minzadehei site linked to nuclear weapons development after an Israeli strike in March, according to an analysis of satellite images from September and October by the International Institute for Security and Science.

High-resolution images from VANTOR Technologies reviewed by the institute show renewed vehicle traffic, continued earthworks, and extensive cleanup at the facility, which Israel struck on March 3, 2026.

Israel destroyed several buildings and likely damaged underground infrastructure during the attack. The facility included aboveground structures as well as installations constructed into the surrounding hillside.

Satellite imagery taken after the strike showed several craters in an area with a surface designed to resemble a plaza. Earthmoving operations are continuing in that section of the compound.

Images covering the period from early September through early October 2026 also show vehicles throughout the site. Cars were parked outside the secured compound, while numerous passenger vehicles and trucks were observed inside.

The renewed traffic followed a large cleanup effort in which debris was removed, and damage at the facility was repaired. The latest imagery indicates that routine vehicle movement has resumed across the compound.

Israel Defense Forces Chief Spokesman Brig.-Gen. Effie Defrin said in March that Minzadehei was connected to Iranian efforts to develop nuclear weapons. According to the IDF, Israeli intelligence had monitored Iranian nuclear scientists traveling to the facility before the March 3 strike.

The International Institute for Security and Science said the recent activity, when considered alongside existing information about the facility, may indicate that Iran is attempting to reconstruct nuclear weapons development capabilities and replace capabilities lost in the Israeli attack.
