Former Hurricane Polo To Push Heavy Rain Into Central Plains

(Undated) — The remnants of a former Pacific hurricane is causing a flood threat in the central U.S. Polo is centered over northern Mexico, but the remnants of the former Category 5 hurricane have been causing heavy rain and flooding across the Southwest. Moisture from the storm is now heading toward the Plains and the Midwest, and is expected to create near record levels of precipitation for this time of year in parts of Texas and Oklahoma. Forecasters say up to five inches of rain is possible from southern Texas to Oklahoma, and from eastern Colorado to northern Illinois, and that the risk of flash flooding in these areas is very likely.
