Israel Strikes Hezbollah Sites After Drones Target Lebanon Security Zone

By The Media Line Staff

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) struck Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon after the armed group launched two drones toward a security zone where Israeli troops were stationed, calling the attack a “blatant violations of understandings.”

The IDF said the strikes targeted Hezbollah sites in response to the drone attack on troops operating in southern Lebanon early Sunday morning.

Before carrying out the strikes, IDF Arabic Spokesperson Lt. Col. Ella Waweya ordered residents near a Hezbollah facility in the southern Lebanese town of Arab Salim to leave the area.

“We urge all residents present in the building marked in red on the attached map and the adjacent buildings to evacuate immediately,” Waweya wrote on X/Twitter. “You are located near a facility belonging to the terrorist organization Hezbollah, which the IDF will act against.”

“Remaining in the area of the building marked in red puts you at risk.”

The warning identified a specific building and neighboring structures that residents were instructed to evacuate immediately ahead of Israeli military action.

Lebanese media separately reported that an Israeli airstrike Sunday morning destroyed Ghandour Hospital in the southern town of Nabatieh al-Fawqa. The facility had been emptied of all patients and staff, according to the reports.
